Shuso Announcement

At the recent Sesshin with Myotai Sensei in New York, I was designated "Shuso" (Head Discple) and offered a talk which is posted at the hermitage heart website http://www.hermitageheart.org/ After the talk, I engaged in "Dharma Combat" with the sangha - unfortunately, the recording of that portion didn''t catch the questions well, so it is not posted.

Myotai Senseis talks from the Sesshin are posted there as well, and I would like to encourage you to have a listen to them for sure!

Rengetsu

Treeleaf Zendo

Chuck suggested that I post the link to the Treeleaf Zendo, about which I spoke last night. So, here it is. There's all sorts of stuff there, including the very useful zazen timer, which you can access directly from the main page. Enjoy!

A Prayer of Thanksgiving

Given at the Knapp family home and shared with the world.

Typically this day is dedicated to giving thanks for the things and people that we have in our lives, the food that is set before us, being with those close to us, family. But, as we take this meal together, let us turn our minds and hearts to giving of ourselves. As Lord Ashoka fed the hundreds of monks with but a mango, or Jesus fed the thousands with but a few loaves of bread and fish, let us embody their spirit of giving, and in this giving, so to be nourished by it...
